About Me
For those who want to know
My life has always been about art and music. Aside from my professional work, I spend many hours writing and playing music. My favorite style of music is singer-songwriter, but I listen to almost everything. I like being outside. I like going to new places. I like football, snowboarding, and running. I like staying up late and playing video games or jamming on riffs! Most of all I love my little girl, Lilah, and spending time with her.
As a kid I was into drawing. My teachers thought of me as the class artist. I still draw a lot, it is a gift that is hereditary, I have artists in my family like my aunt and my neice. When I got to college I wanted to be a graphic designer, so I learned as much as I could and majored in art. After a few years I began to understand so much about art and life, that I had a revelation, sparking my interest in web design. It was a way of transgressing my graphic design ability into more useful forms. I learned as much as I could, and trained myself how to write code.
Music is another big part of me. I am in a successful band as a keyboard player. I have been playing the keys for nearly 14 years now. I always try to improve, I am never satisfied. I play keys a lot. I play mostly original music that I wrote, but love to play covers especially Beatles because they are so much fun!
My main keyboard is the new Kurzweil PC3. It is SO sick. I can't believe my ears. There are so many great sounds in there like pianos, electo-mechanical pianos, organs, clavinets, and orchestral instruments. I have the best time ripping away at this thing, especially with the band, together we are heavy. We just recorded a new album due out this Spring featuring the Sax player from Morphine (Dana Colley). We got Billy Anderson to engineer and co-produce it too! That was the most amazing experience so far, aside from getting to play that festival in Germany. Here is a link: www.captaincutthroat.com.
